Early variants are powered by the mechanically robust D2866, featuring replaceable cylinder liners and high-strength cast blocks for serviceability and longevity. Later models (Euro 4, Euro 5, and EEV) utilize the downsized D2066 engine with high-pressure common-rail injection and multiple turbocharging options. The "one-space" installation concept allows seamless engine swaps without chassis modifications, supporting both MAN "Pure Diesel" and SCR systems as required. Torque delivery is optimized for heavy vocational use and regional distribution, with the two-stage turbocharging on the D2066 providing full torque at low rpm.
Transmission and Driveline
The TGA 410 is most often fitted with the MAN TipMatic AMT, based on the ZF AS Tronic, with programable software modules for specific applications. Features include “Manoeuvre Mode” for precise low-speed control, the "Rocking-Free" function for unsticking on soft surfaces, and automated clutching for driveline protection. Manual gearboxes remain available for select vocational setups. Available configurations include 4x2, 6x4, and chassis with the HydroDrive hydrostatic front axle drive for occasional off-road use.

Chassis Design, Suspension, and Safety
The frame uses QstE500TM high-strength steel with a “hole matrix” for easy mounting of bodybuilder components, preserving anti-corrosion properties. A wider front track yields a tighter turning radius and better cooling airflow. Suspension variants include parabolic or multi-leaf springs and full air suspension. The TGA 410 incorporates MAN BrakeMatic and standard EBS with ABS and ASR, enhanced by the EVBec variable engine brake and optional integrated hydraulic retarder for extended brake life and downhill control.
