Engine and Drivetrain
The MAN TGL 8.180 is powered by the D0834, a 4.6L four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine rated at 180 hp (132 kW) and 700 Nm of torque, delivered from 1,400 rpm. The latest Euro 6d engines feature an SCR-only aftertreatment system, eliminating EGR for reduced weight and ease of maintenance, while preserving performance and efficiency. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and the MAN TipMatic 6-speed AMT, with mission-specific programs (FLEET, PROFI, OFFROAD), hill-hold (EasyStart), and maneuvering modes. The chassis, based on a high-tensile ladder frame, is offered with wheelbases from 3,050 mm to over 5,550 mm. Suspension choices are parabolic leaf/leaf, steel/air with ECAS, or full air. Standard disc brakes and VOK-05 front/HY-0718 rear axles ensure reliable stopping power.
Cab Options and Ergonomics
Three cab variants are offered: the CC compact day cab (1,620 mm), TN/TM sleeper cabs with a single bunk and extra storage, and the DN crew cab for up to seven occupants, targeting municipal or specialist use. The NTG (2020+) cabs introduce a fully digital instrument display (up to 12.3”) and MAN SmartSelect rotary infotainment control, designed for precise operation in a moving truck. All cabs feature a stair-entry system and air-suspended AGR-certified driver’s seats. Flexible layouts increase driver comfort and cross-cab access.
Advanced Assistance and Safety Systems
The NTG generation integrates ACC Stop & Go, Emergency Brake Assist, Lane Return Assist, Turn Assist, Lane Change Support, and Traffic Jam Assist. MAN OptiView, an optional camera-based mirror replacement, improves visibility and situational awareness. Passive safety meets ECE-R 29-3, with reinforced structure and doors engineered for post-collision access.

Payloads for 7,490 kg variants range from 2,100–2,800 kg, depending on body and cab.
