Powertrain and Chassis Specification

The Mercedes-Benz Actros 2651 is defined by its 26-tonne GVM and 510 hp output. Early MP3 models (2010–2011) feature the OM 502 LA 15.9L V8 engine with PLD injection, mated to a 16-speed Telligent or first-generation PowerShift AMT. Heavy-duty configurations include planetary hub reduction rear axles with cross-axle and inter-axle differential locks, and parabolic front leaf with rear air suspension. From 2011, MP4 and subsequent generations adopt the OM471 12.8L inline-6 with X-Pulse common-rail (pressures up to 2,800 bar), paired with the 12-speed PowerShift 3 AMT featuring incline-sensing logic and hypoid drive axles for efficiency. Standard axle layout is 6x4, addressing high GCM up to 70 tonnes for B-double and heavy-regional roles.

Cab Options and Driver Environment

The Actros 2651 offers multiple cab configurations. MP3 models include L and high-roof LH Megaspace cabs. MP4 and later versions feature 2.3m-wide L-Cab ClassicSpace with a 170mm engine tunnel for ease of movement. The Actros L, launched in 2021, improves cab sound insulation and ergonomics. With the 2024 Actros L ProCabin, the cab receives an 80mm extension for advanced aerodynamics and incorporates premium materials and optimized seating to enhance long-haul comfort.

Digital Systems and Assistance Technology

From 2018, the Actros 2651 integrates a fully digital Multimedia Cockpit with dual displays, replacing traditional gauges. MirrorCam provides camera-based rear vision, improving aerodynamics and reducing A-pillar blind spots. Advanced ADAS includes ADA with Level 2 semi-automation, ABA 5 and, from 2024, ABA 6 (270° sensor fusion) and ADA 3. Additional options encompass PPC (Predictive Powertrain Control), Lane Keeping Assist, Active Sideguard Assist with automatic braking, and remote diagnostics via Mercedes-Benz Uptime.

Efficiency and Maintenance Features

Actros 2651 models emphasize efficiency through OM471 engine evolution, optimized hypoid drive axles, full rear air suspension, and predictive route management. Fuel savings are supported by MirrorCam and ProCabin aerodynamics (up to 3%). The Telligent Maintenance System delivers condition-based servicing, and fleet telematics maximize uptime by proactive fault detection and scheduling.
