The Renault D Wide utilizes a 2.3-meter cab unified platform engineered for medium and heavy urban distribution, bridging the gap between light and maximum-width heavy trucks. The chassis supports GVW from 16 to 26 tonnes for rigids, and GCW up to 44 or 50 tonnes, depending on variant. Axle configurations include 4x2 rigid/tractor (GVW 18–19 t), 6x2 rigid (GVW 26 t) with a steerable rear trailing axle for a reduced turning circle, and 6x4 for applications requiring increased traction. Wheelbases span from 3,800 mm to 6,800 mm. Rear air suspension is frequent, with optional full air on the front for load stability and docking compatibility.
