Used Renault T430 Specifications Overview
DTI 11 Engine and Powertrain
The Renault T430 is powered by the DTI 11, an inline-six diesel engine featuring a one-piece deck cylinder head, SOHC, and four valves per cylinder. The engine architecture utilizes seven main bearings and a rear-mounted timing mechanism, reducing drivetrain vibration and optimizing front-end cooling airflow. High-pressure common rail injection is managed by EMS, enabling multiple injection events per cycle for reduced noise and improved combustion. Maximum torque is available at low rpm, supporting strong pulling power and minimizing gear changes. The DTI 11 can operate on HVO biofuel without modifications.
Transmission and Predictive Efficiency
The T430 employs the Optidriver AMT, offered as AT2612 (Direct Drive) or ATO2612 (Overdrive), with Renault-specific software for adaptive shifting. Key features include splitter and range-change architecture, Eco mode for early upshifts, and Eco-Roll for fuel-saving coasting. Predictive cruise control is enabled by the Optivision GPS system, using cloud-based topography data to optimize gear shifts and fuel injection on hilly routes.
Chassis, Suspension, and Axle Configurations
The high-tensile steel chassis enables low kerb weight and broad configuration flexibility. Standard setup is a 4x2 tractor, with 6x2 and 6x4 available, including steered pusher or tag axles for enhanced urban maneuverability. Drive axles include efficient single-reduction hypoid options (RSS1344/RSS1352) and hub-reduction (RSH1370F) for demanding applications. Front suspension options include two- or three-leaf parabolic springs or air suspension, while the rear uses a multi-bellow air system with patented stabilizers to improve trailer control.
Cab Architecture, Electronics, and Safety
The T430 offers three cab variants: Day Cab, Night & Day (sleeper), and High Sleeper with flat floor and increased interior volume. The dashboard features a wraparound design with a 2021 digital update, integrating a main instrument display and optional secondary display for cameras and navigation. Storage is increased over prior models. Safety systems exceed standard ADAS, including EBS with sub-functions (ABS, ASR, ESC, Hill Start Aid), VEB engine brake, EPG, Downhill Cruise Control, CMS for enhanced vision, and nearside corner cameras.
