With a 26,000 kg GVW, the TGS 26.440 is available in 6x2 and 6x4 layouts. The 6x2 suits on-road, high-payload applications, offering optional steered or liftable tag axles for maneuverability and efficiency. The 6x4 provides maximum traction for construction and off-road use. Suspension options include parabolic leaf springs for durability or ECAS for adjustable ride height and load protection. The high-tensile steel ladder frame supports diverse bodywork—tippers, flats, cranes, or fifth-wheel setups. The HydroDrive® hydrostatic front-drive system is optionally available, delivering on-demand traction with less weight than full AWD.

Cab Variants and Driver Interface

TGS 26.440 cabs include the NN day cab (compact, short chassis), TN sleeper (single bunk), and TM high-roof (additional space, up to two bunks), balancing comfort with body length and payload. The third-generation cockpit brings a fully digital display, configurable instrument layout, and the MAN Media System with SmartSelect rotary-touch controller. Advanced ADAS includes Turn Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, EBA, and improved ergonomics, notably with new shift controls and more driver-centric cabin design.

On-road, the TGS 26.440 is noted for strong torque delivery, predictable handling, and effective EBS braking.
