Used Scania P370 Specifications Overview

Engine and Driveline Specifications

The Scania P370 is powered by the 13-litre DC13 inline six-cylinder diesel engine, delivering 370 hp and 1900 Nm of torque from 1000 rpm. This low-rev, high-torque design, available as DC13 149 and DC13 162 variants, supports heavy-duty operations with strong fuel efficiency. From 2015 onward, the DC13 in the P370 employs SCR-only aftertreatment, eliminating EGR to reduce weight and enhance reliability. The powertrain is paired with Scania’s Opticruise automated gearbox, now in its lightweight G25 and G33 generations, which feature an integrated lay shaft brake for faster, smoother shifts. Optional equipment includes the Scania Retarder, providing up to 4700 Nm of auxiliary braking torque for optimal control on descents.

Cab Configurations and Ergonomics

The P370 is available in P-Short (CP14), P-Day (CP17), and P-Sleeper (CP20) cabs, with the CP20 offering both Normal (1.5 m interior height) and Highline (2.03 m) options—supporting both metro and national haulage requirements. The NTG cab design features a lower seating position and advanced visibility, with options such as the City Safe Window to reduce blind spots in urban settings. Entry and exit are made efficient by the low-mounted cab, and ergonomic updates prioritize driver comfort for frequent stop-start duty cycles.

Chassis Versatility and Modular Engineering

The Modular Architecture Chassis (MAC) enables flexible mounting of fuel tanks, batteries, and AdBlue reservoirs using a standardized frame hole pattern. D-shaped aluminum fuel tanks from 165 to 910 litres are available for expanded range within a compact footprint. Common axle configurations include 4x2, 6x2, and 8x4, supporting rigid, tipper, and tractor setups. The system supports body-builder customization for specialized applications, such as mid-mounted cranes and heavy construction bodies.

Specialized Variants and Vocational Features

The XT variant of the P370, aimed at construction and forestry operations, adds a heavy-duty steel bumper (protruding 150 mm), 40-tonne certified tow pin, high air intake, reinforced mirrors, and a fold-out service step. These features ensure operational resilience in demanding off-road and site environments, making the P370 XT a practical choice for vocational fleets requiring both durability and maneuverability.
